I've tried the various suggestions on the Symantec site, like using the command line switch "-FNI". I've also read that there is a update to Ghost that resolves the issue, however, I cannot update my Ghost with LiveUpdate because LU says I already have the latest version. Your posting interested me because I've had almost the opposite problem. I had been using Acronis TrueImage to image my hard drive, but I found that the computer hung whenever I booted to the restore disk.

Acronis supplied a special restore disk which partially, but not entirely, solved this problem. So, I went back to Ghost I image my hard drive daily with Ghost, and I have restored these images on many occasions.

I have not used any special settings, and everything has worked fine. BTW, I have used Ghost to image my hard drive with both a ghost boot CD and by booting into a ghost virtual boot partition. I would think that given the widespread popularity of Ghost as well as Dell is selling SATA drives in most of their new models that my issue is fairly common among many users right now.

The machine consistently froze and wouldn't even load Windows. I had to use Partition Magic to delete the virtual partition to solve that problem.
